If you and your significant other want to collaborate on building your wealth, tracking your budget, and becoming more financially savvy together, Honeydue is the app for you. This is an organized and clear-cut way of organizing your finances together so that conflicts about money can be avoided. It helps keep track of your funds (including bank accounts, investments, and loans) and payables. A chat feature allows you and your partner to chat about financial transactions. Recently, the app introduced a joint bank account feature to help develop better money habits for you and your significant other.
It shows you how to apply the concepts of The 5 Love Languages and helps you create goals that are in alignment with your partner’s love language. You can then send your partner a nudge with a list of activities they might love. The app also lets you check the level of your significant other’s Love Tank. That said, there are some great money management apps out there for keeping couples on track and transparent with your spending and saving. We like to use a monthly expanse tracker that we created ourselves online but there are apps to help you with the numbers, too! You Need a Budget (YNAB) One of the most popular budgeting apps out there is You Need a Budget. YNAB, as it’s called, is a good tool for allocating where you money is going – and being accountable for each cent of it. Their software is good for different platforms and devices – but the app is useful for on-the-go people and couples looking to get a handle on their finances! Download YNAB in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Goodbudget Another good for budgeting and managing money is Goodbudget. Don’t let the cute little icon fool you – this app means business when it comes to tracking your finances. As you input your data, you can share it across different phones or devices to that your partner is updated in real-time, too. Relationship/Long Distance AppsAs for apps that help you stay in touch when you aren’t around or dating long distances, there are loads of them! Couple used to be one of the best (years ago) but unfortunately, the app hasn’t been updated in years and the tech support has gone dead. So, it’s best not to download it and provide information to an unstable/not up-to-date app! Here are a few updated ones that you can check out. Between Between is likely one of the most popular apps out there for couples, period. It’s also one that they kept on updating so that helped a bit! Between is made for couples who want to have a private means of communication, share schedules, send GIFS, remember dates, share photos, and more! Download Between in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Kindu Kindu is more of a communicator app that allows you to create dialogue and share ideas between you both. It’s done in a fun way through “matching” date ideas and other topics – and you only see the ones that you both agree on. Download Kindu in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Line This is more of a long distance communicator app with a timeline you can curate yourself privately. With lots of stickers, photos, and other shareable, it’s a messaging app that you can basically make your own and personalize so that it’s “your space” when you are apart. Game Apps For CouplesWhile there are plenty of game apps for multiple people to play together, we wanted to focus on games that are specifically good for couples to play. One below is a more serious game for couples, while the other is just pure nonsense! Happy Couple Happy Couple is all about getting to know your partner. The app has been around for some time now and remained as one of the most popular. Once you download, there are quizzes and challenges you get to complete with the intention of strengthening your relationship through communication and fun sharing. Download Happy Couple in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Spaceteam Having played Spaceteam before, we can vouch for how ridiculous this game is. As a couple – and up to 8 people, actually – you get to play together on your devices as you “fly” a spaceship. There are tasks to be completed and it’s full of silly stress, shouting, and nonsense – so check it out and let us know what you think! You will have this experience no-more with a great list app on your phone! We actually have a whole article on great list apps if you want to stay organized. However, not all of them are great for collaborating with another person so here are two that are specifically good for couples! Any.do Any.do is a very clean list app that actually does a whole lot more. You can sync across devices and it comes with a calendar function, reminder tool, and more. Look into Any.do if you want a list app with a bit more function to it (mainly the calendar and the fact that it works on MANY devices). Download Any.do in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Wunderlist Wunderlist is a simplified and clean app for creating tasks, lists, and checking them off as you go. The best part about it (for couples) is that you can share tasks with one another. It’s also free but there is a paid version to unlock more tools so check it out and see what you think!
