Andy Frisella is the type of entrepreneur who understands the mindset, heart set, and handset that it takes to achieve excellence, either personally or professionally. The way that he approaches each day is a crucial part of the many successes he’s had, from his company 1st Phorm to his show REAL AF with Andy Frisella. Here are five strategies from Andy that we can use in order to ensure that we’re creating the most momentum possible toward our goals. Stick to our philosophies to build momentumWe cannot compromise our values during our journey, or else any success that we achieve is going to be fleeting. Sticking to our core values and ideas such as, “doing the right thing is the most important”, is what gives us a foundation to excel. Without a consistent and steady foundation of values and beliefs to guide us, it is easy to get off track. “Making It” isn’t the hardest partIt’s important to remember that making money and keeping it is the hardest part, not finding initial success. We also need to have a purpose greater than money to help empower us along the way. Having an additional source of inspiration and/or motivation will help us keep going, even when times are tough. Without a sense of purpose to guide us along our journey, we are much more likely to lose our way. If we’re going to play the game, play it to dominateWhen we decide what areas we’re doing to pursue our potential in, we must be intentional about the effort that we give that pursuit. We have to be willing to commit ourselves to excellence in our pursuits, rather than falling victim to the participation trophy culture that is prevalent today and accepting mediocrity. We should work to dominate on a daily basis, meaning that we need to work to improve on our performance from yesterday, each and every day. Success is like a hockey stickIt’s important to remember that overnight success is a myth. It often takes years of consistent hard work to create momentum in a business and finally “breakthrough”. We must be willing to invest in ourselves and our business over time, without seeing the results we want right away. As long as we are doing our best, learning lessons, and having fun with the process of pursuing our potential, that is the key. Create a “Power List” for our dayWe need to take a thorough look at our use of time to make the most of the 24 hours we get each day. We can start by identifying the five most critical priorities for us to tackle to consider our day a rousing success. These cannot be projects that take us multiple days to accomplish, they should be specific tasks that can be completed during today. Taking care of those big priorities first allows us to create consistent momentum each day towards our goals, while also empowering us to find balance with activities that we are not paid for.
