Amazing Roasted Almonds (German Christmas Market Style)These stovetop candied almonds are PERFECT. The crunchy texture and the German spice make them so festive.I introduced you to the "Weihnachtsmarkt" (aka Christmas Market) in my Monday Morning Blog Post where I shared with you a recipe for Christmas market "Glühwein" (mulled wine). But something is missing, when visiting a Weihnachtsmarkt you must grab some of these to eat, they are so delicious. The smell of those amazing candied almonds! That's what I needed. I found this recipe on a German food blog for "gebrannte Mandeln" (roasted almonds) and they looked perfect. So I set to work converting it to our American measurements and figuring out what's in "lebkuchen spice" (not to mention putting it into English). Now you may know, I embarrassingly never got good at speaking German, but I am still learning. Every time I attempt to have a basic conversation with someone (I'm talking like "hi, how are you? Fine, thanks. Bye.") I would run away totally embarrassed and want to hide in a hole for the rest of my life. But I've been using this app to help me learn basic German words. And also, lucky for you. Because that's how you got the mulled wine recipe and that's how you're getting this recipe today. This is just a compilation of snippets from a Yammie's Instagram story, but I wanted to share them with you just so you know what it's supposed to look like through the different stages.Don't miss a recipe!
