Man Sentenced To 1,800 Years In Prison Tells His Story About What Happened Night He Shot, Killed Stepdad

Christopher Bennett says on the night of July 25, 2003, he went into his stepfather, Vincent’s, house to get money. He claims just as he was about to leave, he heard his 6-year-old sister crying. Bennett says he looked into the bedroom, and the last thing he remembers is raising a gun. Vincent was shot and killed.

During an exclusive prison phone interview with Dr. Phil airing Monday, hear what Bennett claims he saw that night in the video above. And, Bennett’s younger sisters, who say he is a hero, share their thoughts.

Bennett confessed to the killing and took a plea deal of 1,800 years in prison so he wouldn’t get the death penalty.
