Searches for the alleged studies behind the Learning Pyramid turned up blanks (e.g. Holbert, 2009; Lalley & Miller, 2007; Molenda, 2004; Subramony, 2003; Thalheimer, 2006). "The research... demonstrates that... each method identified by the pyramid resulted in retention, with none consistently superior to the others...." (Lalley & Miller, 2007, p. 76). Its almost as bad as that unvalidated Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic model that Coffield investigated.
